"The concept of Time"

        A . D a n d B . C .

In early society, time was roughly

           measured based on the seasons,

           floods or other significant events

           experienced by the society.

           Devices like the hour-glass and

           sundial were used to measure

           time.

           The christian calender uses the

birth of Jesus Christ as a starting

point. It divides time into two

           main periods; the period before

the birth of Christ (B.C.) and the

period after he was born (A.D.)

The year of Christ's bifth is also

used as the starting point for

           numbering the centuries. A

century is a period of 100 years,

           while a decade constitutes ten
           years.
