WELCOMINGSPEECH

FROM PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

I’d like to start by expressing gratitude to final year students of Bach-
elors in Graphic Design (Hons) Faculty of Art and Design UiTM
Cawangan Perak , Kampus Seri Iskandar for continuing the success of
REDEFINE; The graphic design exhibition as a reconfigured quality
design practice. The aim of this exhibition is to share our students'
creative ideas with the people, hence establishing the strong portfo-
lio as a preparation before stepping to the realm of work. Based on all
the good presentations during the exhibition day, I am convinced that
the students will succeed with plenty of inspiration. I’d like to thank
everyone who has visited and share their experiences, ideas and
viewpoints with the students.
REDEFINE is a symbolic word for showing the ability of the
students that can change ordinary things into something new,
attractive and can benefit the society. This is a huge movement
that make the graphic design student not just as a "form giver"
but also acting as a problem solver by using visual as a key
element. Besides, visual aesthetics elements is not just only to
appreciate but enable to drive people thinking, behaviour and
action for doing something good.

Nevertheless, the seventh REDEFINE is no longer focus
on local inspiration. This time the students will carry their
ideas and creativity to international inspiration. INNDEX
(International Degree Design Showcase Exchange) is a
platform for students to showcase their artwork in
collaboration with their counterpart, the students of
Universitas Pembangunan Jaya, Indonesia. This collabo-
ration programme will embarks students' experience in
international level as well exchanging ideas for better
improvement in their design practise.

I hope the success of REDEFINE 7.0 will not just stop
here. The upcoming final year students should take the
challenge to continue the success through REDEFINE
8.0, in which more creative ideas to be developed for
local and international purposes. However, the students'
successes are merely depending to their lecturers. With
the dedicated lecturers today, I believe our students will
continue to success. Kudos to all lecturers!
