But, as reflected in the change of name from Classic Woodworking
to Martin Custom Cabinets, Martin has moved on to other areas of
woodworking apart from chairs. Although part of his family heritage,
       his true passion was elsewhere.

“I decided to work exclusively on cabinetry because that was the type
       of woodworking I enjoyed most.”

Martin has also spent some time working in construction and at a
barnboard furniture store before finally landing in cabinetry.

When Martin bought Classic Woodworking in 2010, he operated it
as a one-man shop, putting his construction contacts to good use as a
way to help him get started.
“I rented a small shop and a separate garage for my finishing room,
close to my house to work out of at first.”
