1: A sundial is a timepiece that has the fewest number of moving parts.
Which timepiece has the most moving parts?
2. Someone has stolen Beethoven’s Wig and has put it in one of four locked boxes.
The boxes are numbered from 1,2,3,4 in that order. There are four diff erent keys
that each has their own color. Use the clues below to fi gure out which key goes in
which box and to fi nd the box where Beethoven’s wig is being kept.
The green key goes to the third or fourth box
The wig is to the left of the fourth box
The wig is to the right of the fi rst box
The yellow key is to the left of the wig
The blue key is to the right of the yellow key and to the left of the green key
The red key goes to the fi rst box
3. A clothes shop was running a promotion giving away free designer jeans.
In order to get the free jeans you had to try a pair on, then, while still wearing the
jeans you had to put your right hand in the left pocket and your left hand in the
right pocket and reach right to the bottom of the pockets at the same time. Many
people tried but were unable to achieve the feat until one chap walked in and
walked out a few minutes later with his free jeans.
How did he do it?

APOLOGY
In a recent edition of this magazine the above puzzle section contained
a riddle poser which made certain references to mental health and the
diff erences between those suff ering with mental health issues and so called
normal people.
In a world ever more focused on political correctness it is increasingly
diffi cult to make sure that everything is presented without prejudice, and
on refl ection I realise that this item could have been viewed as insensitive.
There was certainly no intention of mocking any person suff ering from
illness, mental health or otherwise.
I can only apologise that something that was intended to be light-hearted
caused such concern.
I do receive an incredible amount of material from readers off ering their
jokes, stories and anecdotes and have to admit there are a great many I
could not publish, however, I will endeavour in future to be more careful
in what I do use to avoid causing further off ence.
Additionally I have also decided to rename the above section as it has
been pointed out that the term ‘Brainstorm’ is outdated, with allusions to
those suff ering from epilepsy.
Thank you.
