The kids will be heading back to school soon, which means homework assignments will soon follow.
To help make the transition back to school easier, and tackle those homework issues, Chippewa River
District Library has plenty of resources to help your student get through those tough assignments.
Locating the tools you need is easier than ever. There are links such as Lexia Learning and Central
Michigan University Reading Clinic, that links provide a good resource for those who are learning to
or struggling to read. There are also links such as Khan Academy and Mathvids, good sources for
researching topics and seeing how to properly solve math problems. Additionally, there are booklists to
help your student find age appropriate, or reading level appropriate, books.
Whether the subject is math, science, language arts or social studies, CRDL points you in the right
direction to help students succeed. For teens there are links such as Hippocampus, World Book
Online, and Discovery Education. Elementary and middle school students can find links to Homework
Helpers and Khan Academy. Additionally, the website also offers resources for parents to help with
daily challenges. It’s important to recognize a student’s strengths and weaknesses to help them better
understand their learning abilities.
From family development and health, to raising an avid reader, these tools give parents good insight
into helping their child grow academically and personally as they start another school year. Give your
student the right tools by using all the services CRDL has to offer. It’s never too early, or too late, to give
them the help they need.
