we will offer three different camp experiences that are age specific. Each camp experience includes hands-on activities and offsite
excursions!
• Cost: $250 non-members/$200 members, registration is required
• Extended Care on camp days is available from 8-9am and 3:30-5pm for an additional $15/day
• Campers should bring brown bag lunches
• Registration fees are non-refundable and must be paid in full by the start of the camp session
Messy Masterpieces
Kids will splatter, spray, and smear…and bend, twist, model, and mold…while we learn all about the many ways to paint and sculpt…and
leave all of the mess here at the PlayHouse!
Our week will include lots of hands-on making, as well as fun off-site visits to places like the
Contemporary Art Center of Peoria, Peoria Riverfront Museum, Sculpture Walk Peoria, Prairie
Center for the Arts, and more. This week-long camp will end with an art show, where kids can
show off all of their creations!

Wonders of Water
The PlayHouse and its water table will be our home base as we explore the Illinois River
through dynamic art and science activities, like making fish prints, nature journals and collages,
constructing bird feeders and “animals” out of recycled materials, and building and testing boats
and beaver dams. We’ll explore the river’s plants and animals, its history, learn about water
transportation, and environmental issues related to the river!
Then, we’ll let Peoria become our learning lab! Through off-site visits to places like the Peoria
Zoo, Luthy Botanical Garden, Peoria Riverfront Museum, Glen Oak Park Lagoon, Forest Park
Nature Center, and Camp Wokanda, and a visit from the Illinois American Water mobile lab, our
campers will deepen their interests and become explorers of the world!

Construction Zone
Do your kids like to build? This camp will focus on using basic woodworking tools and
construction methods to build fun projects out of lumber and recycled materials. We will also
learn different methods of upcycling, including strengthening, altering, and re-finishing, to
make something old fantastic and useful again.
The week will include lots of building time, and is perfect for kids who love our Real Tools space,
and can never get enough time making there! We’ll also make some off-site visits to gather
vintage finds for re-finishing, and learn about people in our community who also build amazing
things!
