            Hatshepsut, Egypt’s most
           celebrated female pharaoh.
          She led the nation for more
              than 20 years, at a time
             when men usually ruled
                       the roost.

       In 1479 BCE, Pharaoh Thutmose II PASSED
       AWAY, but his son Thutmose III was only a
       baby. His stepmother Hatshepsut became
       regent, leading on behalf of Thutmose III
       until he was old enough to take control.                                              Did you know?
