Acorns
Many deciduous trees produce
nutlike seeds, such as the acorns
made by oak trees. Squirrels like to
carry acorns away to eat. If uneaten,
they can grow into new trees. Oak leaves in the fall

no longer make food for
the tree. They turn red
and orange before they
fall off.
