240v Wiring
A standard Garage Consumer unit was used with RCD, and three MCBs as
follows.
1 – 16 amp - All sockets
2 – 10 amp - Immersion
3 – 6 amp - Battery Charger.
Approximately £25 delivered. See here for a similar unit Since the
original installation we have replaced the flush fitting brass sockets, the
originals rusted. these are polished brass on stainless steel. They can also
be purchased in packs of 5 see here Packs of 5 here £39.99 per pack with
free delivery.
Use suitable tinned cable, it is better than wire not tinned.
Total including wire, about £200.
The wiring diagram is mine and deliberately does not show the peripheral
wiring, i.e. sockets, immersion heater and battery charger in order to keep
the diagram clear. I was rightly criticized because the first diagram did
not show one of the important earth wires, it is now included.
