Edward Ross Hare was elected Grand Master of our Grand Lodge in June of 1893. He served
during a period of great financial difficulty in our country. To quote from his Address to the
Brethren: “…true, many of our Lodges will show a loss of membership, and all have felt the heavy
drain on their resources, due to extraordinary calls for assistance, but, I am happy to say, the great
majority have been able to bear these burdens and now come to Grand Lodge with a good
representation and their dues paid.”
Most Worshipful Brother Edward Ross Hare was called from labor on July 16, 1916.
