Everything Else
The other items in the Mail Settings pane are mostly edge cases or
marketing exercises. Namely:
Email security. Well, hey! Here’s where you can change the
S/MIME Digital Signature and Encryption settings for certain
kinds of email accounts. (Hint: probably not yours.)
What’s new. Opens a web page that describes what’s new in this
version of Mail.
Outlook for Android and iOS. Opens a web page with links to
the phone versions of Microsoft’s Outlook email app.
Help. Offers an Open Help button that, in turn, opens a very sparse
Help web page for Mail.
Trust Center. “Enable locally relevant content: Let Office connect
to online services from Microsoft to provide functionality that’s
relevant to your usage and preferences.” Ohhh, so that’s what this
does!
That bit of prose is doublespeak for a much simpler meaning: “Let
us send you ads based on what’s in your email.”
Feedback. Opens the Feedback Hub app, where you can send
Mail’s programmers suggestions and complaints.
About. Shows which version of Mail you have.
