3 TIPS FOR EATING HEALTHY
                         AT A FAST FOOD JOINT

1 Strive for healthy sides. The default side with your
order might be chips or fries or breakfast potatoes, but
ask if you can swap it for a side salad or fruit.

2 Don’t break the bank. Rather than going all in on the
burger + fries + shake, pick one indulgent item that
matters most in your meal. If you really want to treat
yourself to a shake, pair it with the healthier grilled
chicken sandwich and side salad, for instance. If it’s the
burger you’re craving most, round out your meal with
                           an apple and water.

3 Patrol the portion. Can you do a half-sandwich,
half-salad combo? Does the restaurant offer a child-
sized entrée? (Sounds silly, but seriously: unnecessary
stomachaches! Excessive food waste!) Maybe your order
comes with a large soda—can you trade down to a small
                           or choose water instead?
