Rottweiler (see p.81), the Greyhound (see p.126), and the Weimaraner
Life span 13 years (see p.246). From these, the Doberman Pinscher inherited a collection of
Origin Germany admirable traits, including guarding and tracking abilities, intelligence,
endurance, speed, and good looks. Widely used for police and security
work, this breed is also popular as a town or country house dog.
Dobermans love being part of family life—the more active, the better.
