German Gebirgsjäger, or mountain troops,
pictured on patrol with during the Norwegian
winter. These specialist units were trained to
ght and survive not only in harsh weather
conditions, but also in unforgiving terrain.
As well as Norway, Gebirgsjäger
units operated in Austria, the
Balkans and Italy.
