M O V I N G I N
T H E S P I R I T
Moving in the Spirit is an award-winning creative youth
development program that uses dance to teach children and
teens ages 3–18 the social, emotional and cognitive skills they
need to thrive.
Through programs that integrate high-quality dance
instruction with performance, leadership and mentor
opportunities, Moving in the Spirit impacts 300 young people
annually in Atlanta, encouraging them to overcome the ob-
stacles they face each day and realize their highest potential.
Programs are delivered by experts with master’s and doctoral
degrees in counseling, dance, education and dance/movement
therapy. We are proud that seniors at Moving in the Spirit
graduate on time from high school AND pursue college or
vocational training. Ultimately, students leave Moving in the
Spirit as confi dent, resilient and compassionate leaders, poised
to succeed beyond the stage and make a difference in their own
communities.
Proceeds from the Cathedral Antiques show will provide
Moving in the Spirit with funding for 4–6 new partner sites
serving low-income communities in metro Atlanta.
