carvings and bark paintings, along with explanations of Transport
Aboriginal culture. Other displays include a chilling exhibition @ 6.
on Cyclone Tracy and displays that explain the evolution of
some of the Top End’s unique and curious wildlife, including
the popular stuffed crocodile named “Sweetheart”.

Sweetheart
Theatrette This large male crocodile, measuring 5 m (16 ft)
in length, is called Sweetheart. It was caught in
1979 in the Finnis River, which is between Darwin
Entrance and Kakadu. He drowned while being captured,
after becoming entangled with a log.

the museum’s stylish low-level building is in a
tropical beachside setting overlooking Fannie Bay.
