         ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Stuart Butler is a photographer and writer specializing in the
Himalaya, Myanmar and eastern Africa. He first visited Myanmar back
in 2001. As soon as he laid eyes on the Shwedagon for the first time
he was hooked, and since that first visit he has returned frequently to
Myanmar. Originally from southwest England, he today lives with his
wife and two young children on the beautiful beaches of southwest
         France. His website is Wstuartbutlerjournalist.com
Tom Deas After being asked politely to leave school at 16, Tom’s first
job was as a food taster in a pie factory. Soon sacked, his subsequent
career moves have seen him drifting from the wine cellars of
Cambridge to the mountains of Yunnan, never achieving anything of
         note until now.
Gavin Thomas has spent most of his life trying to be somewhere
else. A regular Rough Guide author for over fifteen years, he has
written and contributed to numerous titles including the Rough
Guides to Sri Lanka, India, Rajasthan, Cambodia, Dubai and Oman.
