Update
Directing the Jedi’s return
ith The Mandalorian now
W airing on Disney+, fans are
already looking forward to
additional Star Wars series
set to join the platform in the future,
including the return of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The director and writer for the hotly
anticipated series, set roughly 8 years
after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of
the Sith (2005), have been confi rmed as
Deborah Chow and Hossein Amini.
Having already directed episodes
of The Mandalorian, Deborah Chow
has some experience adapting the Star
Wars movie style for television, and is
known for seamlessly blending action
Instant adventure with character storytelling
access to the on shows such as such as Better Call
Star Wars Saul, American Gods, and Marvel’s
galaxy! Jessica Jones. In a statement, Lucasfi lm
president Kathleen Kennedy said that:
“We really wanted to select a director
who is able to explore both the quiet
determination and rich mystique of
Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly
into the Star Wars saga. Based on her
phenomenal work developing our
characters in The Mandalorian, I’m
absolutely confident Deborah is the
right director to tell this story.”
Writing the series is Hossein Amini,
whose feature film credits include 47
Ronin (2013),and Snow White and the
Hunstman (2012). Amini also created
the hit U.K. drama McMafi a (2018).
