Seeds that stick
If you walk through a field
where agrimony has just finished
flowering, you may help it to spread.
Agrimony’s hooked seeds will cling
to your clothes if you brush past them.
The prairies of North America used
to be filled with wild flowers. When the
prairies were turned into farmland,
many wild flowers disappeared.
Agrimony flowers
grow on a long stem.
From prairie to garden
Coneflowers get their name
because their petals point slightly
downward, giving the flowers a
pointed shape. Coneflowers are
often grown in gardens—look
for their flowers in late summer.
