Bedtime
Story

At bedtime, I get all cozy
under the covers, and Mama
dims the light. In a sleepy-
soft voice, she begins my
favorite story.
“Once upon a time, on a
March night, cold and deep
with snow,” she says, “you
were born. I told your Papa:
‘It’s time!’ Papa ran out in his
socks and house slippers to
warm up the car.”
When she says that, Mama
and I always giggle.
