                                                         Sargent Murals
                                           John Singer Sargent spent the last years of
                                               his life creating artwork for the MFA.
                                           Originally commissioned to produce three
                                          paintings, Sargent instead constructed these
                                            elaborate murals, which were unveiled in
                          Level 2           1921 and can still be seen today. He went
                                          on to create the works of art in the adjacent
                                              colonnade up until his death in 1925.
