Songs of Singalila


                                                                The forests of Singalila National Park in West Bengal are home to many elusive species.
                                                       Biologist and wildlife photographer SOURAV MONDAL spent many months walking through these
                                                                   woods to photograph the endangered red panda and numerous other rare creatures.





































































































                                                          From left: Red pandas prefer the uppermost mossy branches of oak trees, where they can camouflage efficiently;
                                                              90 per cent of their diet is made up of bamboo leaves and shoots, so they tend to live near bamboo thickets.
