Seems it’s when you eat as much as what you eat… The more that women ate later in the evening, the
more likely they were to have poorer heart health, according to new research. The study assessed
the heart health of 112 women, average age 33, using seven measures to give them a heart health
score. This score was calculated based on factors like whether they smoked, their activity levels, diet,
much and when they ate. Most women ate something after 6pm but those who consumed a greater
proportion of their daily calories after this time were more likely to have higher blood pressure,
higher BMI and poorer long-term control of blood sugar. A late nibble, it seems, is fine, but your
heart may prefer you to keep the bulk of your meals earlier.
