Creepy Crawler Cupcakes
PREP TIME: 25 Minutes • START TO FINISH: 1 Hour 15 Minutes • 24 servings (1 cupcake)
Cake 1. Heat oven to 400°F. Place paper baking cups in 24 regular-size
¹ ⁄ ₂ cup unsweetened baking muffin cups. In small bowl, mix cocoa and water with spoon until
cocoa smooth; cool.
1 cup hot water 2. In large bowl, beat cooled cocoa mixture and remaining cake
1² ⁄ ₃ cups all-purpose flour ingredients with electric mixer on low speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl
1¹ ⁄ ₂ cups sugar constantly. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl frequently.
¹ ⁄ ₂ teaspoon baking powder Fill muffin cups half full.
1 teaspoon baking soda 3. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes
¹ ⁄ ₂ teaspoon salt out clean. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
¹ ⁄ ₂ cup shortening 4. Spread frosting on cupcakes. Sprinkle with candy rocks. Add
2 eggs gummy worms, gently pushing one end into cupcake.
