Amsterdam’s royal zoo is in Plantage, an Artis has borne

zoo as soon as they pass through the

planetarium, where you can learn

the fine Neo-Classical aquarium,
containing a wide variety of
marine life, from tropical fish and
sharks to huge moray eels.

The planetarium
explores the
relationship between
humans and the stars.
The night sky is re-created
on the dome, and interactive
exhibitions show the positions
of the planets. Model spacecraft
are on display in the hall around
the auditorium. The interesting
slide show is specially designed
for youngsters.

zoo, with parking underground.

Macaws
These birds are a highly endangered
species which Artis helps preserve. The zoo
is renowned for its breeding programmes.
