IMPRESSIONISM
                                                 The most famous art

                                                 originated in France,

                                                 century. Among the
                                                 earliest advocates of
                                                 this style were Monet,
                                                 Degas and Renoir, who
                                                 were inspired by Manet
                                                 and broke with the
                                                 formal tradition that
                                                 previously dominated.

                                                 light, movement and
                                                 colour to capture a
                                                 fleeting moment.

                                  Outdoor Artworks
From murals to stunning statues, graffitti to light
installations, public art in France is a great way
to indulge in a bit of culture on the cheap.

Lyon, Marseille and Paris, while the bold Le

             French Artists
                  at Home
            The homes of some of
       France’s most revered artists,
        including Monet and Rodin,
         have been converted into
         museums where artworks
           are complemen ted by a
           glimpse into the artist’s
       process. The French Riviera is
         especially flush with such
        museums, featur ing abodes
       that once belonged to Picasso
        and Van Gogh, while Monet’s
