Bayonne is the capital of the
French Basque country
and each July sees the city
come alive with five days of
festivals (fetes.bayonne.fr)
that see the red-and-white-
clad locals party hard. Join the
throngs lining the streets
to watch parades through
the city, dance and sing
along at concerts, cheer on
pelota matches and light up
at the eruption of fireworks
each night.
