NOW TO FOOD
This can be a bit tricky.
As a general rule of thumb
within limits, whatever you
your jacket seems to be cons
smaller, it might be best to c
healthier end of the spectru

or brightly coloured chaff). I

people with willpower) then

eatery that was less than 50k ( j
well-known fishing haven), and enjoyed one of the most rudimentary and
boring meals I’ve ever eaten. A couple of fish bites
and a crabstick do not a seafood basket make.
Eggs Benedict are almost always a good go-to
meal but, recently, many establishments have
taken to zhooshing them up with wilted spinach.
This is to be avoided at all costs. Wilted spinach
is an efficient delivery system for stringy green
debris and that’s about it. If you choose to ignore
this advice, make sure you check yourself in a
mirror before smiling at that sexy someone sitting
at the next table. Nothing is more off-putting than
a green flecked set of choppers. A couple
Burgers? There has been a revolution in burgers of fish
in the past couple of years, the end result of
which is that if the burger doesn’t turn up with bites and a
the lid lying beside it (open-faced is the term, I crabstick
believe) it will invariably have a skewer of some
description holding it together. Some places use a do not a
giant wooden toothpick while others use a steak seafood
knife. I’m still trying to work out which is better.
Is the steak knife an indication of compliance basket make
with OH&S? Dog knows, I’ve nearly had my eye
out a few times on errant kebab skewers, but is
the presence of the steak knife an indication that the café is in a relatively
safe location and management holds no fear of furnishing their patrons
with edged weapons? I remain stubbornly unstabbed so I have no data
with which to draw conclusion.
For simplicity’s sake, you can’t go past a ham and cheese
croissant and a coffee (Gauloises optional but no longer
recommended).
In the greater scheme of things, what you eat
or where you eat it isn’t really relevant: the
important thing is getting out and going for a
ride. I once rode to Windsor in Sydney for
sushi (that’s what I told the family anyway)
and it was very tasty. Total trip distance?
3500 kilometres. Total time away? Five
days. And, yes, it was worth it...
