E DI TOR’S NOTE

         Change

         Is Good

I’M A LIST MAKER, and when I cross things
off, I want them to be done. But here in the
real world, nothing ever seems done—and
I’ve learned that this can be a good thing.
Case in point: Last year, the editors
who work on Prevention’s books came to
me, thrilled, with an idea: “Keto!” they
said. “It’s huge, and we haven’t covered it!”
I kind of shot them down: “We’re not into keto,” I said. “It’s not What have
a very Prevention diet, with so few vegetables and all that fat.” you changed
I thought that was the end of it—until they came back with a your mind
                                                                                    about?
new approach: “Healthy keto!” they said this time. “We swear it’s
possible!” Turns out they were right, and the result is Healthy Keto
(of course!), with more than 75 plant-forward recipes packed with
ingredients that are nutritious first, keto-compliant second. I’m
glad I revisited our stance on keto, because now I feel people can
try it responsibly, which is even more what Prevention is about
than avoiding newfangled things. Check it out on page 78 (and
then buy the whole thing in bookstores or from Amazon!).
Sometimes revisiting something isn’t just a nice idea, but can
save your life. Medical misdiagnosis is a serious problem for women,
         who often get overlooked, misunderstood,
and dismissed. Our piece on this dangerous
