Carefully cut the oval shape out, working through one
layer at a time.

To use the mould, suspend it over a box of some kind; it
can be plastic or a simple cardboard version, but it needs
to be large enough for the clay to slump in the mould
without touching the sides of the box it’s suspended over.

Because the mounting
board is covered with paper,
you will need to protect the surface
with something non-absorbent. (This is a
problem I discovered at my cost, proving that even
seasoned makers still have things to learn!)
So, to protect the surface, cut the mould template
out from the centre of your foam sheet then fix this
over the mould with double-sided tape.
Your mould is now ready to use.
