       What to Drink in Paris

Paris is the best place in France to sample a
wide range of the country’s many different
wines. It’s cheapest to order wine by the carafe,
normally referred to by size: 25cl (quart), 33cl
(fillette), 50cl (demi) or 75cl (pichet, equivalent
to a bottle). Cafés and wine bars usually offer
wine by the glass – un petit blanc is a small
glass of white, a larger glass of red is un ballon
de rouge. House wine is nearly always reliable.
                  Red Wine
Some of the world’s finest red
