This handsome German hound, with a Dark, alert eyes
relatively light build, was first bred in the
Broad,
1870s specifically to work in mountainous Back rises slightly pendant ears

regions. A peerless tracker, the Bavarian
Mountain Hound is used to follow
large game such as wild boar Dark

exercise, it makes a
good family dog.

A classic big-game tracker, German dogs of this type have been
well established since the Middle Ages, when they were taken hunting
on leads. The modern breed, changed little in appearance, is still used Deer-red Strong,
