IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING
Drop ears hidden Not only does the Komondor look like the native
under coat Hungarian sheep it is bred to protect, it is treated
like one. The puppies are raised with sheep from
infancy and live with them all year round so the
sheep are not afraid of them. The dogs in turn
treat the sheep as members of their pack and
protect them. Raised in human company they
have similar protective habits toward family
members. The Komondor is even shorn like a
sheep each summer to remove the long, woolly
coat that protects it from the cold in winter.
