STAYING STILL
4I am studying at
Bharathidasan University in
Tiruchirappalli, India. In March, I
was taking a walk by myself when
I spotted this juvenile oriental
garden lizard. I am very fond of
reptiles and thought this one
was very beautiful. It was resting
when I took this photo, enabling
me to capture the peaceful
moment. I used a relatively low
aperture to focus on the lizard’s
face and blur the background.

WOODLAND DELIGHT
5In December 2017, I spent a cold and wet
morning photographing bank voles at Millers Wood in
west Sussex. My wife and I usually hire a hide at the
wood three or four times a year, and on this occasion
we were aiming to photograph bank voles. The small
rodents we saw seemed very relaxed, and were
happily feeding and cleaning themselves while we
took photos. I kept the shutter speed and ISO high as
they move quickly and it was quite dark.
