0 Around Wörthersee

Wörthersee is the warmest lake in Austria; in
summer, the temperature of its waters reaches
24–28°C. Numerous resorts are lined along its
shores; the largest of these is the modern, brash
town of Velden, with its casino. Krumpendorf
and the exclusive resort of Pörtschach lie on the
easily accessible northern shore; quiet Reifnitz
is on the southern shore. Not far from Wörthersee
are other, smaller lakes, including Ossiacher See, 1 Ossiach
in a scenic mountain setting. To the south, The former Benedictine Abbey in
Ossiach and its church were built in
the Carinthian lake district extends along the the 11th-century and altered in the
Slovenian border, surrounded by the snowy early-Baroque style. The oldest monastery
peaks of the enchanting Karawanken Alps. in Carinthia, it was burned down by
Turkish invaders and is now a hotel.

prey show, held
on the slopes of Bodensdorf
