       Exploring the Eastern Canary Islands

The Eastern Province of the Canary Islands – Las Palmas – Isla Alegranza
comprises the islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and
Fuerteventura. All feature unusual and spectacular scenery,
plenty of sunshine and excellent sandy beaches, but each has Isla de Montaña Clara
a very different atmo sphere. Gran Canaria boasts the only La Graciosa
really large town, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which is also Orzola
the administrative centre for the eastern islands. It also offers JAMEOS DEL AGUA
the biggest resort, Maspalomas, with its Playa del Inglés, HARÍA
which has a package-holiday feel. As a contrast, the white
beaches of Fuerteventura have been left fairly undeveloped Tinajo TEGUISE
and it is still possible to find privacy among their sand dunes. PARQUE NACIONAL Mozaga COSTA
Lanzarote has fine beaches, too, while its interior is dominated DE TIMANFAYA San TEGUISE
