MAGNIFICATION
The level of magnification is determined 1x 2x
by the focal length of the lens and the
length of the extension tube or tubes.
To shoot at 1x magnification, the length
of the extension tubes should match
the focal length of the lens as closely as
possible. Magnification greater than 1x
is only possible when the extension tubes
are longer than the focal length of the
lens. If you want to shoot at less than 1x
magnification use an extension tube that
is shorter than the focal length of the lens.
THE RESULT CAMERA SETTINGS
Here, a large aperture has been used to minimize depth of field and create ISO
a softer image. This works well with organic subjects such as flowers. The Av f/3.2 1/8 200
key is to focus precisely on the part of the subject you want to be sharpest. SEC
