ISO AND FLASH
The ISO setting on your camera has an effect
on the flash exposure. If you double the ISO, it
increases the effective range of the flash by a
factor of 1.4. If you are shooting close to your
subject with flash, it is best to use a low ISO
setting and a small aperture, as these are less
likely to cause overexposure. The higher the ISO,
and the larger the aperture you set, the greater
the reach of the flash. One drawback to using
a high ISO is that it may make the shutter speed
higher than the flash sync speed. In this case,
you can either lower the ISO or switch to a
high-speed flash.

MORE THE RESULT
The final shot, taken with the flash power set to 1/4, has a good
overall exposure, without burned-out highlights. There is also a
pleasing balance in exposure between the flash-lit foreground
1/2 subject and the naturally lit background.
VARY THE FLASH POWER CAMERA SETTINGS
If the exposure is incorrect, adjust the flash
power in increments of one stop, doubling or halving M f/5.6 1/125 ISO
the power with each stop. Reshoot and review the SEC 100
exposure until you are happy with the results.
