LIVE VIEW
Modern DSLRs can stream a live image directly from
the sensor to the camera’s rear LCD. To do this, the
mirror is raised, blocking the optical viewfinder, and
the shutter opened. Using Live View means that you
can easily check the exposure and options such as
white balance before shooting. You can also zoom 8
into the image to fine-tune focusing (particularly
useful when shooting macro). The downside is that 2
the camera battery will be depleted more quickly.
Autofocusing will also be slower. 9

PROFESSIONAL
Anyone who owns a professional camera
and lenses is usually eligible to join the
manufacturer’s professional program.
This offers useful benefits such as faster
camera servicing and repair times.
However, lenses designed for APS-C
cameras may not fit or work correctly
on professional full-frame cameras.
Cameras that have an optional vertical
hand grip also have space for extra
batteries, which extends the time 7
that you can shoot for.
