on Kylo Ren’s villainy:
“For me, a villain at the surface
has to be cool and has to be scary,
right? Like, you need someone
who is a real bad news kind of
character, someone who enters the
scene and, with presence, lets you
feel awe in the truest sense of the
word. But that’s not really enough,
to me. You have to go deeper, you
have to have a villain who has more
going on—remember, villains don’t
know they’re the villains. They think
they’re the heroes! They are the
protagonists of their own story.
