FROM PREDATOR TO PREY
Along a riverbank in Brazil, a skilful jaguar turns
a caiman – a fearsome predator to most other
animals – into its prey. The jaguar hides on the
shady bank waiting for the caiman to swim past.
When the unsuspecting reptile is close, the
jaguar leaps into the water with claws and teeth
bared. The caiman is wrestled to the shore
where the jaguar, with the strongest bite force
of all the big cats, overpowers it in minutes.
