Blue dragon
This dazzling creature is a type of sea
slug. Its blue back blends into the azure
waters of the Indian and Pacific oceans
to escape the attention of flying predators
such as pelicans, while its blue-grey front
acts as camouflage against fish below.

Mandarinfish
At home in Pacific Ocean reefs, this
fish produces a bright blue pigment
in its skin to warn off predators. It is
unique among animals with backbones
in being able to produce blue pigment.
