Sergio Camellini

Sergio Camellini was born in Sassuolo (province of Modena,
Italy). He is a clinical psychologist, psycho-sexologist, poet
and writer (member of the Società Italiana di Sessuologia
Clinica e Psicopatologia Sessuale, Sipse Onlus, Turin). He
studies the 'arte povera' of rural life and artisans, and has set
up a rural house museum in the Emilian Apennines. He has
published a volume on body language, his collected works
and twelve books of poetry. His works have been highlighted
in journals of poetry and literary criticism such as “Storia
della Letteratura Italiana, il secondo Novecento” (Alcione
2000, Guido Miano Editore). He has received various
awards including Italian and international prizes: he is a
contributing fellow of the Accademia dei Bronzi, honorary
member of the Associazione Culturale Euterpe and the
Associazione Culturale Versilia Club, and honorary fellow of
the Associazione Culturale L'Oceano nell'Anima. He has
been included in the Eccellenze degli Artisti e Autori del
Nuovo Rinascimento (Centro Leonardo da Vinci, Milan) for
which he writes a column entitled "Il pennino dello
psicologo". “Le Muse”, an international magazine of art and
culture, elected him “Personality of the month”, devoting
their cover page to him (April 2017). Together with other
leading authors, he has been included in the Dizionario
Critico della Nuova Letteratura Italiana (Edizioni Helicon),
the Dizionario Autori Italiani Contemporanei (Guido
Miano Editore), the Enciclopedia dei Poeti Contemporanei
Italiani (Aletti Editore) and the Nuovissimo Dizionario di
Autori Scelti (Cronache Italiane, ANSA). He was asked to be
one of the Italian representatives of contemporary poetry at
Belgrade (Serbia) and Hyderabad (India), where he received
the Award 2017. "Quercia in favola" in Aulla (Massa-
Carrara), an association concerned with children's rights,
recently presented him with a career award ("La quercia d'oro
alla carriera"). Some of his poems have been set to music and
performed at schools. His poems are devoted to everyday life.
He manages to capture the suffering of others and his verses
express immense sensitivity and gentleness.
