Luna Mechia and are enroute to Keteria as we speak. Their craft appear to have been greatly
modified, and ingeniously I might add” one of the Technical Advisors said after reading the
preliminary report.
“What of the other pilot, I understand she’s human. Have we any way of identifying where she’s
from?” asked Julio
“Markings from her uniform tie her to an organisation called The Federal Unity. The technologies
used in the craft seem to have come from several cultures and levels. She did have a medallion from
a University on her person… Thule Academy, Extula Prime, System Delvaria near Proxima Ultima,
was inscribed on the rear. With a class rating which made no sense to the crew of the Luna Mechia”
the Tech replied.
“I want regular reports sent to this council and my personal Coms as soon as they come through!
Gentlemen, ladies; I suggest we end this debate and review what we have been given in seclusion.
We should reconvene later to discuss how to relate this to the populace. Has anyone contacted the
other outposts?” Julio asked. There was a shaking of heads “Then do so at once and only give them
the basics for now. This session is dismissed!” he said and slammed his gavel on the rostrum. As the
Councillors and others departed, Lyris and his Uncle approached.
“It’s time that these fossils were shaken up!” His uncle Rene said “present Company excluded” he
added looking at Julio with a smirk on his face. Julio laughed and Lyris glowered then smiled
“Thank you Uncle; I needed that. It has been a somewhat tense few days and my brain was getting
overloaded” Julio said. Lyris held his hand
“I’m glad your Father chose you to take over his duties, your Brother would have had us retreat from
the outside world, being of a pious sect. My husband was one of your Fathers greatest allies, and to
lose them both when we did…” she let go of his hand when she saw his face. Julio had watched in
horror; then only twelve, as the experimental craft that his Father and Lyris’ husband were piloting
went out of control over The Great Sea. The rescue hovercraft found only wreckage; their bodies
were never found. Julio had already been named as heir to the throne by that time. He had relied;
wisely as it later proved, on the support and advice of his Uncle Rene.
“We never did have a memorial to Father erected. I think it’s time we did, and to all those lost over
the centuries of our entrapment. A commemorative tribute that the people can respect and so sadly
need; prior to our visitor’s arrival, who by all accounts could be here soon, it would give them an
impression of our resoluteness. I leave the matter in your hands Uncle. I need time alone to digest
this news; I will reconvene the Council in three hours. We will make a decision as a Council then as
to how best to proceed” he said and left the two of them to go to his private chambers.

Lennie unfroze and staggered as if he’d lost his balance. His facial response was odd to say
the least. He didn’t speak at first, signalling he wanted a pad.
“What happened? Did you decode any of that last part?” were the first questions fired at him. He
didn’t respond just feverishly entered some data into a pad. After a few minutes he handed the pad
to the Ensign at navigation; asking for the locations to be put on a standard chart of the nearby area.
He then went back to the others

“The message was a series of locations, odd sort of nomenclature, the
makers use constellations as reference points rather than fixed stars
relative to Galactic Centre. I had to make adjustments and calculate the
relative positions of those constellations from our viewpoint in space”
                                   he said finally.
“I’ve been looking at the Glyphs on the hull. They’re degraded but
some are almost like ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs in part and some are
close to the Krall script that was found in the Great Chamber on the
Krall outpost. It could be a subset or a dialect though I can’t be really
sure. In particular that one that looks like a name Cartouche. Using
phonetic relation I think I have a translation… Kryst!” Lorna said not
looking up from her pad. The ships Hive had managed to highlight the
