“Please call me Derek; I’m no longer in active service. The files are from a period that relates to The
Roswell Incident. But these concern another set of circumstances in the former United Kingdom. We
now know that pieces of the recovered craft were taken to Britain for a specialist investigation. At
some point after the Economy Wars; The Brit-Hugeno Dynasty acquired the remains. Their then
scientists had discovered a similar set of pieces on Charon; Pluto’s moon. By close comparison it was
found that the two craft belonged to the same fleet” Derek informed
“I read all that during my Historical Thesis; it was a standard requisite. What has this got to do with
the Curators?” Lance asked
“It doesn’t; well not exactly” Ron replied “Let Derek continue and it might become clear” He added.
Derek went on to reveal something that had come to light in the files in this Vault. At the time they
recovered a number of flat hexagonal crystal plates. Like those your abductee had with him. The
original discoverers didn’t know what to make of them. We’ve been trying the same methods that
were tried on the Kryst discs. An attempt was made during the fourth decade of the Brit-Hugeno
Dynasty using polychromic lasers aimed in narrow beams at the disks to see what the diffraction
patterns revealed. The results were inconclusive. Early last week; that previous experiment was tried
again, this time using just three beams focused into a scanning single beam. The results were strange
to say the least. The Curators didn’t record data as any other race would. The crystals emitted a low
intensity field that bore a remarkable similarity to the signals from the Achenazi Head bands when
used for telepathic communication. We tried the experiment again with two Achenazi present and a
head band connected to one of the Venosian Bio-Hives. Take a look at these” he said and handed
them the holographic recordings. Lance put the data crystals into the holo player.

When they’d watched all of the Holographic scenes; Ron, Lance and Sandra just sat looking
dumbfounded at Derek.
“Before you say anything I must say this. The reference in the last scene to a location on old Earth
was checked out. The Atalaman Congress and the Thelexis Dynasty have scoured their collections;
the item that we saw in the last scene survived The End and was eventually found in the personal
collection of Alanora Thelexis. It’ has been brought here to Lunaris. I thought you here should be the
first to witness the activation. And this vault has the most secure construction in the building should
anything “untoward” happen” he said and smiled. None of them spoke for a few moments. Lance
was the first to speak
“Will any of the material be still viable after all this time? It’s not like the other stasis units. Apart
from the shape and size; do we really want to revive such a thing?” he asked hesitantly
“Don’t worry we have taken precautions, and it was agreed that Lunaris was the best place to do
this. In particular here in its secure location” Derek answered
“But the risks; if it manages to escape…!” Sandra said
“Taken care of; we have installed the immobilisers that the Hurabash used themselves. They were
found elsewhere in this building. The thing can’t escape out into the wider community” Derek
explained briefly
“I suppose my authority to refuse has been revoked by the High Council?” Ron Land added
“I’m sorry; but that was part of the agreement. In a way it’s actually better that the three of you are
here. That way there will be an “independent” record of events. One more thing… I’ve asked for a
Vahamat representative from the Inter Species Medical Council to be witness to all this. She is an
expert on Gantrax physiology. When asked she jumped at the chance. She should be arriving shortly.
Her name is…” Derek responded but was interrupted
“Denarius!” said the lilting voice of the tall slender Vahamat as she entered the chamber “forgive me
for being a little late; I was meeting with an old friend from The Sonoran Trust” she explained “If the
initial message I received is correct this could well be the only surviving example of the “prototype”
creation” she finished. Derek nodded and let her view the Holograph recordings that the others had
just watched. When she’d finished she stared silently at the last still image.
“When do we get started?” she asked…
