SEEDLING SALE CONTINUED FROM FRONT PAGE
We are pleased to offer a new selection of native perennial
wildflowers at this year’s 2021 seedling sale. Native wildflow-
ers not only offer aesthetic beauty, but they add many ecolog-
ical benefits to our landscape. Native wildflowers require less Early Bird Sale
maintenance than traditional landscaping plants, decreasing the
amount of water and fertilizer required for optimal growth, fil-
ter pollutants from stormwater, improve soil health and attract
pollinators and other wildlife. The new species offered this year
are Mistflower, Lanceleaf Coreopsis, Great Blue Lobelia, Star-
ry Campion, Crooked Stem Aster, Gray-Headed Coneflower,
Yellow Trout Lilly, Whorled Milkweed and Hope Sedge. Os-
trich Fern will be offered in quart size containers.
Many of these plants would make excellent additions to new
or established rain gardens! Visit our website for detailed de-
scriptions of bloom periods, size and preferred habitat of our
native perennial wildflowers. Order forms will be available on
our website, www.lorainswcd.com.
