Supporting Missouri’s Innovative Ideas
The Missouri Technology Corporation is a public-private
partnership created by the Missouri General Assembly to
promote entrepreneurship and foster the growth of new
and emerging high-tech companies. MTC focuses on 21st
Century bioscience industries that build on Missouri’s
rich history in agriculture. It is governed by a 15-member
board of directors appointed by Missouri’s Governor,
Speaker of the House, and President Pro Tem of the
Senate. The President of the University of Missouri
System and the Director of the Department
of Economic Development are ex officio members of
the board.
MTC invests in many startups popping up around
the state, adding to Missouri’s growing innovation
scene. According to the most recent Census data
(2013), Missouri led the nation in new business
creation, and our communities continue to be
named among the fastest-growing startup scenes
and some of the country’s best places to start
a business. Much of this excitement is due to
organizations like MTC, as well as the commitment
of our state’s leaders to build up Missouri’s tech
ecosystem. Through increased funding, MTC has
been able to help even more local companies get
their innovative ideas and products off the ground.
To date, MTC has co-invested in 100 companies who
have in turn been able to raise over $450 million in
additional capital to grow their businesses and create
jobs.
MTC works to ensure that the next big idea happens
right here in Missouri. Visit missouritechnology.com to
