Dr. Chi-Chang Lo spends a few minutes talking
with freshman Rob Hecox after class about a
test. Dr. Lo enjoys spending time with students
and getting to know them on a personal basis.
“Even though he is intelligent, he brings himself
to our level,” said Rob. “He is always willing to
eat lunch with us or stop to talk with us.”
Amy Wolff and Mike Jenkins visit after class with
their history professor, Dr. Lexie Wiggins. One of
the students’ favorite times during chapel is Dr.
Wiggins’ “This Day in History.” The students
enjoy his sense of humor combined with his vast
knowledge of history as he reveals several
interesting historical facts about the day. His
students also enjoy his friendly personality. Amy
said, “If I don’t understand something in class,
he is always willing to talk to me about it.”
During Chaucer class, required for English
majors, Dr. Jean Macfarlane directs the class in
lectures and discussions about the major works
of Chaucer and the medieval period of Engish
Literature in which he wrote. Dana Lacy said,
“Many of the words we have today come from
medieval English. This class helps me under
stand where some of our words originated.”
