JAMES DAVID BLUMENTHAL
Entered 1951
Swarthmore
In his own quiet and unassuming way, Jim has crept into
almost every vital aspect of school life. Balancing his academic
achievements with extra-curricular activities, he spends mornings
and afternoons either running off examinations and notes on the
basement mimeograph machine or working in the darkroom, in
addition to balancing the accounts of this volume. His calm,
collected appearance disappears only when he becomes involved
in heated arguments over some profound aspect of hi-fidelity or
his favorite version of one of Tschaikovskv’s Piano Concertos.
DANIEL IRVING BONBRIGHT
Entered 1947
Swarthmore
Dan, to be brief, is incredible—in school, at a dance, on a
street corner. Learning, absorbing, and resolving throughout his
twelve years at Trinity, Dan has led, as far as he lets know, one
of the most ordered, specific, and rational lives in the history of
the institution. His aggressive displays on the soccer field and in
the classroom have placed him high in the ranks of both the
scholars and athletes of the class. But Dan is best characterized
by his undaunted pursuit of knowledge and truth, often to the
discouragement of his “ignorant” masters.
