MILES M EMORY MAIDEN
Miles has spent two years in the boarding department, and he has devoted much time to his
endeavors both at Moses Brown and at Wheeler. Since his arrival from Cape Cod, he has been
known as a quiet, yet concerned student who has developed close friendships in all his activities,
some of which were tennis, hockey, ping-pong, and volleyball. W hile Miles leaves, taking with
him his unique manner of dress, Moses Brown will lose a true individual.
EDMUND M ARTIN MAURO, III
Skip is the classic optimist. Make that eternal optimist, for he has confidence in his abilities to
overcome the many adversities he encounters. When he arrived at Moses Brown in the 7th grade,
Skip established himself as one of the more rambunctious members of his class. After a year’s
sabbatical at the Proctor School, Skip returned to Lloyd Avenue for his senior year. A fine all-
around athlete, Skip excelled on the lacrosse field. His enthusiasm and aggressiveness were valua
ble contributions to Joe’s squad. Skip’s future success will undoubtedly be due to his uncanny abil
ity to recognize exactly what must be done, and then do it.

JOSEPH VICTOR MEDEIROS
If anyone who knows Joe is asked to pick out one outstanding trait in his character, that trait
would doubtless be his individuality. Although Joe is a quiet classmate, his style speaks out for
him. His haircut doesn’t conform to today’s overrun idea of fashion, nor do his clothes, nor even
his style of life. And in times when most people are succumbing to the pressure of the crowd,
Joe’s individuality has made an invaluable contribution to the school community. One of his main
hobbies is discerned immediately as Joe passes by. He always has a camera strapped around his
shoulder. W hat’s more, unlike numerous students, Joe actually uses that camera as a photographer
for the Quaker. But everybody has hobbies and sports. Joe is one of the few people who can boast
to being a friend to anybody and everybody. And that is a true accomplishment.
